justt got the big boat out. put it on the hose and it ran like crap. figured carb kits so i made an apointment with the dealer. in the mean time i drained the gas (14 gal. will be cuttin the grass on that) put in fresh gas with seafoam and oil ( pre mix mine, figure it it blows due to oiil its my fault not the injection) well its a johnson wiith plastic carbs. had a friend from back home, outboard tech, tell me to do the above and run it. the plastic carbs dont funk up like aluminum. guess what ? the phucker run like new. no sputter sneese no miss nothing.

now ive been using the marine stabil fotr the last 2 years due to the ethonal. seems to be ok but never had any problems with out it. the dealer tells mme thhat seafoam doesnt do much for the gas its a cleaner and that iit does very well. he tells me abbout the starbrite stuff and that iit binds to the alcohol/ethonal and makes it heaveier. no vapor lock problems.

i use seafoam religiously. never had any problems with it in my boat or truck. once a yr i pull my carb and pour it directly inline and let it circulate to clear my hoses out. white smoke pours out my exhaust.

I also use seafoam... it will work wonders on clearing crap out and making it run good again.

Instead of puttin in additives, I used Prestone Marine Fogging Oil every once in a while or when I knew I wasn't gonna be able to go out for a while. With the motor runnin, spray it directly into the carb from the side (should have a hole in the set screw about the same size as the spray straw) until the motor starts to die out. Do this to each carb a few times. Repeat a few times a year and she'll stay clean.

Seafoam is awesome. You can put it in every tank of gas if you want, plus gag the motor with it to clear the carb. I think they should put that sht in the pump in place of gasoline.

Sta-bil helps, but there's no replacement for starting your motor up and running it for a few minutes til warm every now and then. See above paragraph about Seafoam

how you like that big scavenger ? i had a 5.5 hp. tough little bastard ugly and slow but tough.

I use seafoam in every tank. Stuff is gettin higher in price, but it has seemed to work for me.

To be honest I haven't put anything in her. No sea foam, no stabil nothing.

I used the fogging oil in my suki. Only thing i give my mb is 93 octane with some 104 Octane booster.

i usually find a store without the ethanol and still use a little seafoam ever now and them. they advertise no ethanol but who really knows???

well got back from a week on the river with no problems (other than a chunk out the prop)

mixed up a 6 gal batch of gas oil and a double shot of seafoam. ran it out and cleaned up fine. then we ran about 50 gal with stabil. never missed a beat.

the other stuff is called startron by starbright. sposed to be the chit. i will try it after i burn up the stabil i have.

I use seafoam and stabil on occasion. about once a year I run some Marvel Mystry Oil thru 1 tank.

I run stabil in every tank to keep the water out of my fuel because I have an aluminum tank and it will sweat.

I havent had any water show up in my fuel/water seperator yet, so either it works or my tanks does not sweat inside.

havent used the seafoam in my mm. but i have used it to clean junk out of swamped fourwheelers several times with good success.

My PD has 312 hrs on it, just dumped all the gas out of the water seperator andfilledit with sea fom. Dumped the rest in the 6 gal tank. Fired her up, she spit a nice big black cloud, ran rough for about 15 sec, turned up the throttle to 3000RPM for app. 60 sec and went on my way. As the day went on you could feel her run better and better. I think she actually runs better than new to be honest... Only time I ever used it in my MM.

I did use Sea Foam I did use Stabil... I have now found a new product... Pri-G
