Redhead should take about 30 seconds on the central coast. Really like that hybrid duck, great plumage!!

Re: My wall O Ducks
Looks good I just got a couple back from a buddy, myself. You had the same guy do all your work?
Some work done by buddy. If anyone in NOLA area is looking for a good, affordable taxi that doesn't keep your birds for years send me a PM. Got a guy in St. Bernard that's just getting started.

Re: My wall O Ducks
Those birds look really good. Yea i had the same guy do all of them, it helps me out in that its easier to explain what i want the bird to look like and dont have to worry its going to face the wrong way! I only wish he would have put a really small piece of hanging wood behind them I think the big pieces detract from the birds. That hybrid is one of very few I have seen with that amout of mallard visible. most have the pins foot color and a long sprig. Hes just got a small sprig 3-4in but it curls up! The funny thing is we hunted this hole for a month and saw this same "pintail" work us time and again every morning and finally he got a little too close...as I was walking over to retrieve him i saw those orange feet and imediately freaked! The next brid that I took was the black duck whaich are pretty uncomon for the areas I hunt....by far the bet and most memorable hunt I have ever been on and the best part is my pops and brother were in the mud right beside me

Re: My wall O Ducks
I dropped 11 birds off at the taxidermist this year. Out of my wish list of 27 birds to get mounted, I now am only 6 short of completing. All the hard ones are out of the way; Harlequin, barrows goldeneye, common goldeneye, and old squaw were the tough ones. I'm just glad to have them scatched off the list. The big bonus was the two banded birds. I said I wouldn't get a mottled duck mounted unless it had a band, since the chances of getting a banded one in our area is good. Well, the last shot and last bird of the season was a banded mottled duck.

Nice! I'm planning on a South American duck hunt to add to it in the near future. I want to get a Bahamian pintail bad!
