I own both. I like the cycling and smoothness of the Maxus. The Benelli fits better but has more felt recoil. I really like the Maxus. I swap up alot during hunting season between the 2. I think that the Maxus is cheaper too.

i have a sbeII and my friend has a maxis, we hunted together alot and his hung up once from puttin a shell in wrong and we had to disassemble it to fix it . His does kick a little less but he has to clean it more often especially if he is shootin blackclouds. They are both great guns but i love my boom boom boom.

Bought a Maxus last year. Other than pushing the magazine cut off switch forward during shouldering the gun (turns it into a single shot) with ducks landing I did really well with it. I don't like the safety since it is proud of the trigger guard by 1/8" on fire. IMO it should be smooth on fire and stick out on safe so that when your booger picker touches it you know instantly. Our group has a Maxus, SNE II, 2 novas, SX2, SX3, Mossberg 935, 870 and some Mossberg Bantam youth guns. Over the last five years, they've all had hiccups but nothing that wasn't fixed in the blind. Except the 870.

Bought a Maxus last year had a lot of prob's at first, had to send it back to um'. They fixed it and it works fine now, all the factory would say is they had to do a "slight repair". love the gun now!
