I have never hunted woodies so the question is I will be in a river do u throw the decoys out like mallard hunting or do u put them close to the shore and down trees

I put mine closer to the tree line but you got to remember they flying fast and furious so they got to be able to see them.

Your best bet is to probably scout and find a little slough that they are piling up in and through out a couple of decoys and be very still! But to answer your question put them a lil closer to the trees like he said.
