Your first post back and its already started........ I done seen plenty of them Benellis crap out. Only time will tell if it will be a winner. There aint a thing wrong with remington autos. They are long overdue for a revamp with modern material & technology. I hope it works out for them this time.

I like my remington 11-87 supermagnum waterfowl edition. I don't think its built as well as my dads 11-87 premier from 20 years ago, but its still a great gun IMO. I had a bad experience with a SX2 so I'll be hard pressed to buy a winchester again. I wasn't thinking about the vinci, but like the versa max. Time will tell.

Remington went down even further when they adopted this Sportsman series. The 3 1/2 had/has some issues but I never fired or owned one. I do have the 3 1/2" 870. They thought that epic fail 105 would replace the SP & premier models. There is really not much any company can do to remake a gun and it not look similar to one of the B-guns if they incorporate modern features and material IMO. I hear they are gonna run the same price wise (around 1200.00) as the the others. That quoted retail is always a couple hundred higher than shelf price here. I may buy one in the future but I will hold off till it gets a little time under the belt. The only real complaint with my 1100/11-87s if you can call it that is with the weight. Even this new gun is not down to the lighter weights of some of the others. But if you want to talk reliablity across the board I think the Beretta models have that wrapped up from what I have seen.

I was told the Remington Versa Max would be $1300, last Benelli I bought was $1445. Remington is due to come out with a good gun after some of the disappointments they have had.

I was teal hunting this morning with my 20 gauge 11-87 and I went to reload after some shots and I could not feed a shell into the mag. I started looking into it and found a very small steel ring laying in it. I don't know what it was but the gun worked without it. That being said I will be out there with the A5 mag 20 in the morning and looking into the remington tomorrow.

All the "B" guns that I have are 12s and I just love to shoot teal with a 20. I really like the 11-87 but this is the second time in 4 years that it has had a scrap iron fit,the gun is only about ten years old. I have two 1100's that are 40 years old that never miss a lick.

It maybe time for that Montefeltro.
