I have one of the first 3.5's that came out. great gun, but too nice to put in the boat. I use it in the blind sometimes, I tell the guy's I'll let them have a chance  and I'll take the handicap

I wouldn't get a cynergy used to shoot competition and every one I've ever seen had some kind of problem stick with a proven o/u

I shoot the duck blind cynergy. Love it. No experience with the citori in the duck blind but they are a great clays and dove gun. I would recommend the cynergy to anyone. And in my opinion, the synthetic's look much better than the wood stock.

With the cynergy the comb is very easily adjustable. I shot one box of 3.5s through it just to get some feedback. You will feel it, but recoil was actually not as significant as I had anticipated. Cleaning is a breeze, as with most o/u shotguns. After 1 season of use, I can see no visible external wear to the gun, which is always a plus. For me the balance of the cynergy is a little better than that of the citori, but I must admit I have only shot citori in 20 gauge.

I am a fan of the low profile hinge and action. It is a little different at first, but after a few outings, when I go back to my clays gun, it seems to be the abberation.

Also, prior to purchasing, I was a bit concerned with the weight of a 3.5 capable 12 gauge, 2 barrel gun. It turns out to only weighs 4 ounces more than my Benelli M2, which is relatively light waterfowl gun in itself.

After all of the good, I must point out the only flaw that I have found (to this point). The gun does not come with a factory installed tap for a sling mount. I talked with browning about this and it is simply not an option. I expressed my concern and they told me that considering the circumstances and intended use, I could tap it myself or use a gunsmith and this WOULD NOT VOID my warranty for the stock/forearm. I have not done this yet, but will probably have it completely prior to next season.

Best of luck with your decision. You will not be dissapointed.

i have the cynergy in duck blind camo and have hunted with it for 4 seasons and it is a very good gun.

look on Guns America and you can find them every once in a while.

thanks bullsprig for the feedback. I was not sure if the comb was adjustable on the cynergy, and how the recoil was. One thing that I like about the citori was the wood stock which would easily accept limbsaver recoild pads and a mercury tube... not sure that stock bending would be a good option for a dipped gun.

do you think that adjusting the drop would make a difference in the feel of a low profile as compared to other guns?

I have a Citori and the fit and finish on it is outstanding. I'd take a long look at they Cynergy too if I were you.

I can only speak for a hunting buddy of mine, can't remember which browning o/u he has, I beleive it's a citori. It's a very sweet shooting gun, though he feels seriously impaired with only 2 shots. Just something to keep in mind. Part of me wants one too. 8-)

I have an O/U but hunt with an Xtrema 2. O/U's are very nice fancy shotguns but in my opinion they aren't ideal in a duck blind because of how clumsy they are to load in a confined area. Now don't get me wrong, I love taking my Browning to the clay fields and shoot extremely accurately with it. I've also taken it with me on a dove hunt but still prefer a semi auto for hunting.

To me, recoil control plays a big part in how accurately I can place my follow up shots and how many ducks I can drop in a flock. With the 3" mags going through an O/U the muzzle flip will be a lot more so it might slow you down a bit.

Long story short, take a look at a Berettta Urika 2 or Xtrema 2 since they'll be in the same price range and are exclusively designed for hunting. The SBE 2 is nice also but kicks a lot more than mine with the Kick Off system.

No, they seem to just clearance them out. They even have to have the manager go over all the paperwork, he looked up the price, said he couldn't take anymore off,So I said throw in a couple boxes of shells, he said ok. :D

I carry my O/U whenever I can. It's fun to shoot ducks with. I never shoot fewer birds because I only have 2 shots. I actually take better shots when I know I only have 2 tries. I hunt out of a layout blind often... That's the only time it's awkward. Sometimes I have to reload with the doors closed, can't do that with a O/U.

Post subject:  Re: browning O/U

I carry an older 30" 12ga. 3.5" Citori "Satin Hunter" as a backup gun on traveling hunts. I shoot it better than any of my autos, but the recoil with 3.5" loads can be stout, so it remains a backup.

We hunt primarily from stationary blinds, so breaking it open to reload can be a problem. You either have to back up into the blind, or hang over the front in order to get the o/u broken open and drop the shells in.

For ducks over the decoys, I have had few occasions to look for the third shot. On geese, I do miss the follow-up/mop-up third shot.
