I know they are probably going to be very hard to find. But if any of ya'll know somewhere I can find either a 30 carbine, ruger .223 ranch rifle, or some kind of .22-250. i need something that is a little more accurate than a .22 mag for coyotes and hogs. im not looking for anything special, just something I can leave in my truck and take out when i need it. Any help is appreciated.

Talk to Mike at Bayou Teche Guns. They will find you what you want, and out you on a call list. If you go by the shop and talk to them they may lead you in the right direction. I know hunter had a SKS for sale, but you barely can hit the side of a barn with them.

mini 14 IMO is a good great reliable lil gun. options for them are unlimited, you can shoot 30 round mags out of them scopes folding stocks ect. and they are a pretty accurate lil gun too and can be had for 400-500ish which isnt to to bad for todays guns

Marcus, I tried calling him at the store twice today and to no avail. Ill try him again tomorrow i guess.

Hunter- my girlfriend's dad has that ruger ranch rifle(which is the mini 14) in the .223 and i love it. We got into a group of javelinas in ozona last december, and my girlfriend fired off about 11 rounds into the group and came out with 5 of them dead. The problem is they are so hard to find now, and if you do its a dam 3 month back-order. I may just have to bite the bullet and put one on order.

Double-R- ive only shot one .22-250 and i loved it. I think it was a winchester rifle. We were just shooting prairie dogs in northeastern wyoming when we were at rodeo nationals. That was some fun chit, but do you think they would have enough power to bring down a hog?

i have killed deer, a 200 lb hog in south texas, as well as coyotes, and other things. it is my primary hunting gun in east tx. it just depends on how good of a shot you are i guess. i try to kill all hogs by shootin them in the head because of the plate behind their shoulder. so get a good scope that is the best thing to do because your gun is only as accurate as the scope that you put on it. i understand that there is alot of variables with a shooter but you have to start with a good reliable scope.

Yeah i saw that one but he sold it already. Called a couple of guns stores around here and all they have are the true assult style rifles. I wanted one that i could also use to hunt with and not look like a jackazz walking around the woods with an assult rifle. One has a bushmaster that he said he could "let go" for 1300 bucks. I think ill just stick to shooting them with the old 30-06 cause its alot cheaper buy the ammo for it that to pay for that gun.

You can find some deals on a mini 14 but its hard. Everyone thinks its worth more than it actually is. I've been looking for one as well.
