Is the shell releasing from the mag tube on first pump or after pumping it a few times? Yeh get you one of those Benelli POS and then you can really be pissed when you have spent 5x the money and it still breaks down.

I've got a Remington 887 nitromag and I'm having problems with the gun not wanting t jack the shell from the tube to the action. It does it after two or 3 pumps, normally. Wondering what could be the cause of this, and of there's anything I could do besides taking to to a gun smith to get it fixed. |

If you don't wanna take it to a gunsmith, take it to a landfill. Then go out and get a SBE or Extrema 2. |

Get a stoeger, easy on the wallet, and its a great gun,I loved mine...I put it threw he'll for almost five years with no problems until I found a deal on a browning gold.... But I haunt heard anything good about those 887's |

It's not releasing the live round from the magazine. It takes 2 or 3 pumps before it actually jacks it onto the action. |

Believe me I would be shooting one too if I'd know this would happen. Figured I'd just save some money and get something that actually works well and shoulders good for me. I've got no complaints except for this, overall it's a great gun, and has killed quite a few ducks so far. Just ran into this problem last hunt when I put 3.5" blindsides in it. Thought maybe it could of been the shell, does it with a 3" xpert as well. |

Pull your trigger group and mag spring assy and clean really good. And by they way, just like a MM they can all have issues. I seen the B guns go down too so if you buying into that chit I got some property i want to sell you first. |

I had shot an 870 for about 15 years and swore I could never justify buying a high dollar gun since the 870 was so reliable. The wife surprised me with an Extrema 2 for christmas 3 years ago and I had to eat my words. You can't compare until you shoot them side by side. |

870 will cost about 350 had it for about 10-12 years jammed the first time this weekend. The casing of the shell must have exanped because the extractor claw ripped the brass off when I pumped it. As for as benilli pump, the guy I pretty much hunt with every weekend shoots one and he is having trigger problems. Otha than his I have never seen one fail |

Back to subject real quick... It seems to do it the worst with a 3.5" shell. I put 2 3/4 in it and it didint do it as bad. There was a time with the 3.5 were it just wouldent jack it into the action at all. I pushed the shell back some, into the shell tube, and released and tried to pump gain and it jacked it in. Any ideas here? And Coe and Brad - alright I give, what I ment to say was he's a douche towards me. Ima go ahead and apologize, brad sorry for calling you a douche. I throw in the towel you seem to be an alright guy, I don't know you so I'm not gonna sit here and try and judge you. |

Well these were givin to me, buddie bought some not paying attention and thinking they were 3", then realized once he got to the house they were 3.5s no refund on shells at academy so I got a free box of shells seeing that my gun actually chambered them unlike his. Got some gun scrub, and sprayed all of the gunk out of my gun that had built up, and it seemed to fix the problem, after one hell of a cleaning. Thanks for all the input |

I cleaned it the best I could without breaking it down.. Couldent get to the gun buildup in the back of the action so I bought some "gun scrubber" and it got it all out without me having to completely disassemble. I cleaned it good enough the first time to make myself thin it was something else, such as a failed spring, etc. Apparently the buildup in the back of the action had something to do with it all. |
