i hunt in west tennessee and have had a few good days this season. a guide from about an hour away contacted one of us and said he has overbooked and wanted to know if we could take a few of his clients. we said yes but honestly have no idea how we need to go about "guiding". we hunt on public land so its pretty hit or miss. i guess my question is can anyone give some pointers? anything would help. |

If you're taking his clients, he should put you on the birds. Basically, you're just providing the equipment and spots for his clients to sit. That way if its a bust with no birds, he is the one responsible. |

make sure you can legally guide on the public land you are hunting for one thing.....and have the guide service that wants to hire you put you in one of their spots. Make sure you have the liability insurance to cover any problems and that the guide service is responsible for all money transactions and i would get paid up front..... |

I guided for two years in Montana and the most important thing is to make sure everyone is safe and happy. It is the other guys responsibility to find the birds. It's just your job to get the hunters there. |
