i hunt both...have never seen a ton-o-ducks, but a few...deer r there but mostly on private hunting land. dont get caught on any...dem crazy old cajuns will shoot yo ass

theres no birds in the prairie.. stay away.. lol.. when i want my fill of public huntin i go there. i try to go durin the week.. too many yahoos durin the weekend.. openin mornin sounds like ppl blowin kazoo calls. |

the prarie is a big hit or miss, you can go there one day and not see a bird there and go there the next and shoot a 3 man limit. DO NOT HUNT ON SAT OR SUNDAY, too many people, sky busters and no calling jack@$$ES. but ill hunt there a few times a year cause its close and i can pick up a few ducks there. |

Used to do pretty well at the Prairie (Manchac). Haven't done so for the past several years. I think it's a change in flight patterns, & lack of food. that place used to ball up your motor with grass. Now it's just a shallow lake. Like everyone's stated, the weekend is useless. I've done ok on teal during the week if a cool front happens to come through during the season. Otherwise what's there on openin day are gone on Monday, & you won't see anything until the next front. Never hunted Maurepas. Got a couple buds that got into some woodies on a slough a couple times, but I don't know about the teal. |

I was in a lease for 10+ years in Maurepas - once the salvania grew, bye bye green heads. Couple woodies here and there but thats about it. Same as everyone else - I went to Southeastern for 4yrs and would hunt Manchac during the week and do OK, never hunted the Prairie much because of the pressure. Check your PM |

I hunted the south side of Blind River for a few years while i lived in French Settlement. Never really saw any ducks out there. We killed some deer though. |
