Post subject:  Decoys...What's good now days?

The last time I bought decoys they were Flambeau's at $19.99/dozen. The only other options were G&H and Carrylite. I did win a few boxes of GHG's at a banquet a few years back. I went to Mack's website today and there are at least 30 different options just for Mallard decoys. I'm looking to get about 6 dozen mixed species for our green timber hole (better quality), and a few more dozen for the public lake we hunt ('el cheapo).

Anybody have any recent experience with what's good and what ain't? I know G&H is probably still good, but are any of these new brands and models worth anything?

Matt

Rogers sporting goods has the Dakota's for 140 plus shipping. Shipping is 15 bucks per dozen. I just ordered two dozen and got them in 3 days. They look awesome and I'm gonna keep em in slotted bags.
I've run G&H for a few years before that and they hold up very well in a regular bag

I saw some in person and wasnt impressed.
They were just about the same color as the old GHG Gaddies.

And I really dont want anymore GHG overpriced junk anyway.

A buddy got some of the Dakota extremes last year. Made my G&H mags w/ turning heads look bad. The G&H are still tuff MFers. I never bag them. Just clip the TX rigs to the rail & they hang just behind the deck. Still look good after 5 yrs. Got some old ones that dad keeps at his place that are 10+ and still going strong. When ducks get close enough to tell my G&H from his Dakotas they have hopefully repented
, prayed and gave their heart to their god because their feathered ass belongs to me. 8-)

They are alot lighter in color and the drakes have the browner heads.
Very rarely have I seen a really all dark head and all gadwall like most decoys are painted.

How much did you give for em?

For top end decoys it is hard to beat E. Allen if you ask me. look as good as you can paint OR buy then painted. Ride the water great don't bounce around like plastic.

Also has great paint for your boat!
