The start of season sure is looking poor in my area. Making that deer/duck decision a whole lot easier. Y'all on them or deer hunting?

I've been doing this for 20+ years and I'm telling you it is poor. They could show up overnight, but this isn't the front that brings them to our area. I've got contacts all the way up to Kansas and our bread and butter birds (gads) are behind schedule.

We've got greenwings and bluewings around here too yet. Weird year. Even some Woodies, but i think they are starting to flock up more. I haven't personally seen a single Woodie in a few weeks.

Just loaded up last saturday, we shot just about everything under the sun. Sitting on 200 greenheads waiting for the weekend to come. Just finally getting birds down and season closes the 19th of nov.

I would half to say we should have a good many birds here showimg up....But thats not been the case. Season opens in 4 more weeks.

Things are starting to pick up around here really haven't gotten any real cold weather up north yet, big snow storm out west this week that should put the birds down some. Tons of geese around.

Well seasons looking up for us... Have a cold front coming in before opener this weekend, and had 2 straight days of rain.. two of my very best holes around here were almost dry.. both are filled up now thank god...

Woodie - Nothing but blue wings, haven't seen but maybe a handful of green wings... Actually saw a few mallards today while finishing up a blind..
