Well, if you sling enough arrows, it's bound to happen... I hooked my camera up with the intentions of filming some deer to show my girls, then a decent Florida buck came in and I shot too high :(
I wasn't able to review the Gopro video until I got home so I started tracking drop by drop of blood, a few hours later we finally jumped him damn near a half a mile away. He had plenty of energy and appeared he'll live through it. Maybe I'll get another chance at him one day...

Looks like the shot would have been good but he dropped down when the arrow was shot

At least you gave him a good follow and determined he will live. Most will just let it go and the deer dies a miserable death later.

I think the shot still would've been too high if he hadn't jumped. I thought he was going to turn left one time and drew back, there were 4 other deer and one was looking my direction so I held the draw for almost 2 minutes before shooting, not sure if that affected me or not... o well. maybe next time.

well that's a neat video, but you defiantly hit the dead zone above the lungs, just a little higher and you would have spined him. he's definitely still alive.

That was a nice deer! Too bad you missed him! But that's why they call it huntin not killin! Everyone misses every now and again!

I got to shoot some 2 years ago in the snow. You can not imagine the blood from a good pass trough that you never see. The snow shows it all.

I bet! No reason to loose one in the snow haha. A good bow pass through will bleed more than most rifle shots. This sob ran through planted pines and to me pine straw is about the worst thing to track through.

When I go duck hunting in Arkansas I have a couple of buck shot in my pocket, my cousin shot a boar a little over 300 pounds from the blind one morning.
