Post subject:  Deer Stand Questions
I have a Summit climber that I leave at a hunting spot, but have a few other areas within a few hundred yds I'd like to hang a lock-on stand. What hang-on stand do you use for bow hunting? Looking for something with a decent size platform and a seat I can sit in for 4-5hrs.

Also, do you prefer climbing sticks or screw in steps? If anyone has anything they would be willing to get rid if I would be interested as well.

I prefer climbing sticks. Way quicker to put up and take down. I cannot recommend a brand because I built mine and also built some octagon shape lock-ons. Check out woodsey too tree stands.

I use a summit Viper SS for climbing, by far the best climber i've used. I am looking for another so i can have several out in different spots. But i also don't mind moving from tree to tree if need be, i have the aluminum frame.

Yeah, I've got an aluminum Summit. I don't always come in from the same side of the property so I'm looking for something more semi-permanent and cost effective. I can buy a hang-on and climbing sticks for around $100 and another summit is $225+.

I got a aluminum Muddy stand with for rest, with a treestand buddy attachment. I've got like 5 bases that go on the tree and I carry this deer stand on my back pack to which ever stand in going to, takes about 10 sec to hang it. I also use the tree ladders that rachet strap to tree, more like sticks I mean. Only way to go in my opinion. I just buy the 39$ sticks from Wal-Mart or sportsman guide. Mainly I do this because allot of times I've got up to 10 spots I hunt for different reason. Good luck

Millennium m-100 or m-150 with climbing sticks. And get a comfortable harness to wear when u sit in a stand like this. Good luck.

I use a summit viper aluminum climber for moving around. My lock ons are just the game winner brand from acadamy. I like em, just get the oversized frame. Comes with a bigger base and better seat. $80.

I use climbing sticks for my lock ons... They are easier to climb, and pretty fast to put up.. If you are hunting public ground I would put a lock and chain on them..

Millennium M-100 loc on with the cheapest sticks u can find. Fuck the screw ins. M-100 &150 can be removed from the chain/ratchet strap and brought to another tree with attachment. By far the most comfortable loc on made

Dang that Millennium M-100 is expensive for a lock on. I like the oversized Academy brand, not to mention if you are hunting public land and it does come up missing, it doesn't burn the pocket as bad. but chain and lock and take your steps with you, or at least the first 3 and you shouldn't have a problem..

You can take the stand leaving multiple brackets left in the trees you hunt. They are light as a feather and no doubt the most comfortable loc on. For $150-$180 they are worth it. I'm thinking about getting their boat seats.

Great concept, I guess a dozen of $35 brackets and one $200 stand is cheaper than a dozen $80 lock ons...but I'd rather have them already there waiting on me.

I have a muddy. Its light weight and comfortable. I just bought the 4 pack rope climbing sticks and even though they are a little expensive they are worth the money. quick, quiet, and stack easily to your stand when carrying.
