Been working on my light rails and poling platform setup for bow fishing. Here are a few pictures of my progress. The lights are 50w led halo colored seelites, with a Honda 2000 genny pushing them. I mainly built the poling platform to put the generator and a cooler on to get them out the way and to get the generator fumes out the boat. Only took it out 2 times so far and the lights seem to work pretty good.3.jpg |

Yoh got some more close up pics of the poling platform? Mainly how you have it attched to the hunt deck. Also how does that 18x46 do with a bowfishing load? Looks good btw |

I like the angle of your platform, looks like it doesn't limit your turning the tiller the way some I've seen. I just ordered some lights but am going 24 volt, so not sure if I'll still need a platform or not. Nice job |

Did you just use aluminum tubing to fit and just welded it all together? How about attaching it to your boat? I had similar set up on an older boat but recently got an 1854 xpress with 35gtr on the back and am looking to do exact setup as you just trying to get some plans drawn up and do it right. Thanks |

Nice rig. Looking to buy a shallow drive for my rig as well. However where I shoot most of the time is in the timber and there is so much brush and saplings, those lights would be beat to death. As much as I hated to add extra weight to the front of my boat, I had to install a raised platform and put the lights UNDER the platform. But they are protected that way and seems to help keep the bugs out of your face. |

You got any ideas for a cover for the front to lights. I can see my truck slinging a rock and breaking the glass. Sent from my iPhone using Smoke Signals |

From what Ive seen around most of you guys dont build raised decks. Is there a reason for that? |

Post subject: | Re: My bowfishing setup |
I have been wanting some light covers for mine. Had one bust going down the road and it was loud as hell. Raised vrs flush is like every other debate. I like flush closer to fish and a lot less hassel and I'm getting to old to step up and down. |

I never used one, as stated weight doesn't justify. I've always shot from deck of boat, or floor. New rig has a monster front deck for bow fishing Sent from my shitty cell |
