Post subject:  Help converting gps coordinates

I have the old school garmin etrex been having it for years and normally I just go walk in woods and find my spots and then mark them on my gps to mark stands and what not well i got permission to hit some other property and we'll I have it pin pointed on google earth with coordinates but can't figure out how to convert them to work with the garmin cause I don't have time to walk the hole thing so I'm trying to go straight to the point

The Garmin owners manual and google gps coordinate converter. It ain't hard.

This GPS is about 8 years old there is no more owners manual

Here's what you do once you you get the coordinates in the correct format.

Also, the coordinates from Google earth won't be as accurate as points from an actual gps or chart. You'll be close, but not exact. It has to do with the way they cut and paste the maps together on google.

Thanx I'll play with it tom see if I can get it to work I like my old gps because they so simple and easy to work them new ones are to fancy all I need is to mark a spot and sometimes make a route

Thanx for all the help I was able to change the format on the god and take numbers right off google
Earth and put them in gps and it's pertty accurate idd say with in 50 feet

That's what I was going to advise,,,,, under settings, convert number format to match Google earth number format.
I have an old school Garmin 76s and had to do the same thing a few years ago. Surprisingly accurate.
Now I just use my phone.....
