Ya ! Looks like another early season for us. I can still find open water but the fucking snow gets too deep to get to the launch! We had afew good winters but the last two have been real early and lots of snow. Going to get a new ski-doo this week !

It's called winter, put on your gloves and hat. The big lake snow machine is really in high gear with another 10-12" expected tonight. One more weekend of ducks and that's a wrap for the year. 95% of the water is locked up but you find the open water your and your in heaven. |

Can you say... sleds! Even though we only got 6 inches, I had to take one out after hunting Saturday night for a test run! At least if the birds all go south we can make the best of the weather. |

I love being outside right before these big systems hit and hearing the mallards 'chuckle' as they fly over. I heard a lot of chuckling yesterday. Wow! And our duck season is not even in yet??? |

yep - learned my lesson on trailering motor without cover yesterday. Started at landing fine got out to spot shut it off for AM re-started to P/U dead birds and was making hell noise and spitting ice out of fan. I cleared as much of it as I could reach - but still had a chunk rattling around blower housing for 4 mile run back to landing. |
