This was 11-01-09 17 birds 2 bands and one happy 9yr old. The first goup of birds that came in landed, so we told the boy to shoot, he shot peppered one pretty good but still got up and started flying I jumped up finished the bird and shot another. When the dog retrieved the duck the boy saying "that mine right" over and over I said "of course it is" and threw it back to him. Boy is on cloud nine. Later that hunt I drop a BW Teal dog retrieves and he has a band. So I'm excited we talking about it the boy ask what is it so we explain it to him and he says "Oh my duck has one." We originally told the boy that was his first assited duck kill but when we saw the band we told him to tell everyone his first duck was banded. I think his hooked. |

My first bird was a banded mallard drake and it hooked me in pretty good - so yeah, I would say that he is well on his way. Good for him and good for you for taking the time to pass along the passion! |

Thank you but that is not my son. He is my buddies (the guy in the front of the boat) nephew. But I was just as proud of him as if he was my blood. |
