I was in 8ft seas in the keys for a solid 2 weeks in a v hull boat with a cabin. My uncle built it, he said technically it was a lobster boat hull design? It was dry but rough in 8 foot seas. By 2 weeks straight I don't mean we were on the water for 2 weeks straight. We'd cast off before dawn and come home at dusk. Or vice versa if we were sword fishing Sent from...wait, Where am I? |

Thanks guys, I been fishing out of Cameron in a small boat and the 4th of July trip kicked my butt. I've heard a lot of good things about how the cat hull rides and figured I'd try one. My friend had a 28' hydra sports hull and in rough water 4-6 it had that hull slap that just shook. The previous owner said he had been in 10' and it did good but could only run slow. He said 5-6 foot he could make 40 mph and the ride was good. I shall see, plan on trips to fourchon, and about any where I can. I'm buffing the hull and cleaning it up for the next week then I'll be looking for a crew that wants to go find some blue water. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nice ridin boat , we have a 2870 pursuit with twin 250 suzukis , your gonna love the motors. That hull does a lot better when its Rough ( 5/7 ft) (6/8)ft Ive got buddy with that same hulll that I fish with. When it kicks up rough get the boat moving alittle faster and it will bust through the big stuff no problem if going to slow the rough stuff likes to grab the boat and push it around alittle more than it does with a V hull. This is just what ive seen first hand with that boat , And will say there Is no other hull out there that will ride better than that boat. Sweet |

Only problem with a cat is when you are parallel to the waves. One sponson on top of the wave and one in the trough. Hell of a feeling if you're not used to it. FB_IMG_1436651387795.jpg I sure miss mine. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk |

Nice boat. We run an older 30ft scarab with new hondas on it. We leave out of Corpus Christi though. Planning a trip over to venice at some point though. Just need to find the time and weather. |

Well we went out yesterday, went out 60 miles, that morning seas were 4-6ft for the first 30 miles then laid down around the 50 mile mark. We were able to run 20-25 mph in 4-6 and 2-4 we ran 36mph our total round trip was 156miles. With 133 gal fuel used. We caught a lot of fish and had a great time. We were 52 miles from the East Flower Gardens. That will be our next trip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
