Looking for a waterfowl outfitter in Texas, somewhere near Wichita Falls, Lubbock, etc. Go on a yearly deer hunt and want to do 2-3 days of waterfowl beforehand this year. Will be sometime between mid Nov-mid Dec if that makes a difference. Will be doing research but you can't beat personal experiences, thanks in advance

I know its alittle ways from where you'll be but I've hunted with lance at lakeforkduckhunting.com and had a bad ass hunt. I've never been on a hunt before where birds were pileing into to decoys and the guide says "don't shoot yet wait for the sun to come up more and shoot all Drakes" and it actually happen. Didn't leave the blind till noon but he cooked us break fest tacos in the blind and scratched out a limit of nearly all drakes of like 8 different species. I got some pics if you'd like to see them

No way in fucking hell I'd drive all the way from Lubbock to hunt fork. I don't even like driving an hour and a half to hunt there. I even know a few people that have houses there, would let me leave my boat at the house, and stay there so I didn't have to drive at night.

Not sure how long ago that was, but that lake is over run with STUPID. I would not go out of my way to hunt there. Def wouldn't pay someone to take me.

West TX has a lot more to offer, and will be less crowded. Might get a shot at some cranes out there too.. They seem to hunt a lot of smaller tanks or ponds out that way. Lot of belly crawlin and jump shooting.. But lots of birds and not a ton of pressure.

Yeah, all the bucks I've killed have been 200 lbs and up, not like the small ones I've seen in south Texas. Either way angler size is bigger than here. We probably have an average of 3-4 deer hunters per 100 acres, I have 1100 all to my self in texas

I am also willing to bring my boat if there is public water to hunt in that area. For both public or guided I'm happy to go anywhere within like a 3 hour radius of the vernon, tx area in ford county. It will either be on my way there or only a couple hours out of my way when im driving 19 already so no big deal for me lol

Wow, that is quite a haul. You are literally passing thru some prime hunting areas just to get to Texas. I would suspect maybe you have quite a good deal in Texas to drive all the way down here? You do understand that Illinois, Missouri, and Iowa have much larger deer than Texas, right?

Sorry, I don't have any outfitter contact up that way in Texas. Can't help you there. But good luck.
Are you looking to shoot ducks, or are you wanting more of a goose hunt? I know a lot of guys who have been up around Lubbock to shoot Canada geese.

I would like to target ducks, there are a lot of species that tend to be down there that I will probably not see up here mostly because it's my first year back into waterfowl.

I've thought about going to other states (been to Illinois once, not a fan of the communist state lol) but what started as a 4 day hunt is now as long as it takes to tag out and the landowner is like family so yeah, I'm spoiled. I will venture elsewhere one day but got a pretty good deal going for now

I hunted the Pintail Lodge for a week a few years ago in January. Lots of bull sprigs shot. They have a nice set up and seen/shot a lot of ducks, geese and sandhills. They are around Eagle Lake somewhere. I would go back without a second thought.
