 mojo dove decoy
I did search on this forum and there were some positive reviews about using the mojo dove for duck hunting. If so, did you do any modification to the decoy to make it more "teal/duck-like"? I'm not cheap just saying they are cheaper option, I generally only use spinners during teal season and the first two weeks of regular duck and then they go back in the box.

 Re: mojo dove decoy

 Re: mojo dove decoy
They dont care as long as it flashes. Honestly think you could put out a marker flag with black on one side and white on the other and it would work on a windy day. They arent looking at the decoy, just the spinning wings

 Re: mojo dove decoy
Thank God for stupid teal! Our mottled ducks also are suckers for them but I try and not shoot them because their numbers are dropping. Thank you guys, I will invest in one!

R/c car motor, stick, remote control and a piece of cardboard. I've seen them built for a few bucks. All they're looking for is the flash. The mojo dove are a good option though and are usually pretty cheap.

 Re: mojo dove decoy
Guys I know use these and teal ones for mallards. The quick wing beat and small size seems to work well with a paint job they look ok.

 Re: mojo dove decoy
NO geese here, a growing population of Egyptian geese in mostly urban waters is a fact. Otherwise, ADD BWT in late September, and some gullible Aythya collaris in late November and early December and then they wise up for the remainder of the season by which time I've stashed my spinners away.

 Re: mojo dove decoy
You can make 'em into floaters supper easy too and they give off good ripples by using the camo EVA foam ground seats from Walmart!

 Re: mojo dove decoy
Good idea! Would you care to tell me how to make a floater? They work better closer to the water for me. I just received my new dove decoy- great wing speed, improved rocker on/off switch, magnetic attachment for wings ( now to figure out how to make extras?)...mojo has a programmable timer for their decoys- according to their website can be used with most decoys- except my new dove does not have the wire module they show on their video- has anyone successfully used this timer with the newer mojo decoys? I would definitely prefer that over a remote control.

 Re: mojo dove decoy
Going to look at those seats, do you double them up? Don't want to make too much water commotion and attract a big old gator!

 Re: mojo dove decoy
They're about 1" thick and 12"x12" maybe a bit bigger but one of em will work fine! Pop a hole in the middle and use 3/8 bolt (I think). Either get bolts threaded all the way or you'll hafta build a spacer. I've used all kinds of stuff for the "washers" that help stabilize the bolt, from Gatorade bottle bottoms to worn cutting discs... Works good!

 Re: mojo dove decoy
they work great for teal the way they are. I did cut the head off a teal decoy and glued it on just because but couldnt tell you if it does any better.

 Re: mojo dove decoy
For our teal season i use a MOJO BWT and Dove. Works just fine, easy to break down and put in my backpack, unlike a baby mojo.

 Re: mojo dove decoy
Bug, I have an older camp boat cushion that just might work, thinking to add a wood bottom and fastening it up like yours
