 Making Noodles and Burning Time
Dad gum it sure seems like a long wait to get this custom boat. It guess it is all part of it.
While I am waiting I went ahead and put together 20 new catfish noodles. I am looking forward to running them on the White River. Back when I ran jugs, I used parachute cord gut for my line. With the noodles, I put 50 lb braided test on these. I am wondering if the thinner line might not be a bit tough on the hands for larger cats. I guess I will find out before long.
I cleaned and lubricated all 15 rods and reels and put new line on all of them.
I guess I could go ahead and set up a couple bow fishing rigs and practice a bit.
I am running out of projects to do while waiting for this build.

Retirement must be hell, keep a pair of leather gloves for the big cats.

Re: Making Noodles and Burning Time
Haaaaa.
Now that I am retired from the Army I work a full time job with a logistics company in operations. I just work back to back 12 hour shifts. I work three days one week, four the next. That means I have lots of days off.
Once I get this boat, I think I will be able to make better use of my off-days. One can only work in the garden so much.

Make sure to put a band of reflective tape on your noodles. You can spot them a long ways off and not mess with them if it is not bouncing. I used two different colors on my noodles. One color for dead bait and another color for live bait.

Re: Making Noodles and Burning Time
Good advice on the reflectors. I had already gone by AutoZone and picked up reflective adhesive tape. I did ten red and ten white.
I also put a rubber band on each noodle. This allows me to adjust depth of the bait by routing a loop of line up under the rubber band.
The build has begun.

Won't be long. J knocks them out pretty quick-like once he gets rolling on them.

Not sure if you are used to it or not, Ranger....Those snap swivels were a nightmare on my rigs. They caught on about everything, and can gash your hands pretty good too! FWIW...
