Hey can yall tell me what size mud motors I can run on Texas public hunting land? My lease has been getting out of control over the past few seasons. I hopped around the Colorado river for a few hunts this season and thinking about dropping my leases and hunting public from here on out. Trying to figure out if I need to down grade to a 25hp or if I can keep my 35. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Unless you are running a TPWD managed unit, there arean't any HP restrictions on any public areas. Federal WMAs are a different story. The managed lands are listed in the APH booklet or online. Each federal WMA will have it's own set of rule. Look them up or call before you go.

The Federal Units here in Texas have 25hp and 9in prop restrictions. Other than that I think all the TPWD units you can run any size mud motor, here in the coast anyway
