Here we go ... I have a pro drive 16x54 with a rod box I always use and a gun box I Never use , that sits in my yard . I'm not a hunter , I fish weekly . I'm considering using my gun box as a cooler , I know this would surely need to be sealed and. some type of insulation and also a drain plug . I would get a divider welded so 1/4 could be used for drinks . I have yeti 65qt and a 20qt but thy seem to always be in the way in my small boat as they really eat up a lot of room and add a good bit of weight . like many I love my yetis own 5 of them but I don't need to keep ice for 10 days to be honest . any advice , any ideas , thoughts , if this is a dumb idea please tell me , if its a good idea please tell me . Fabricate you a interior aluminum box. Insulate between the interior and exterior with the spray foam and then seal it off. That is about your best bet. I would think it would be better to make a sound box out of it or sell it. I used to use one for my duck blind seat dry storage on the marsh.
