How long before the ldwf closes
down duck season?

I realize lots on here just ride around in the deep measuring peckers, but for us that hunt every day they can, this bp oil spill might shut it all down. Especially along the. Coast.

Nomotor zones ain't got nothing on a oil covered marsh.

a backup plan but I hope I don'tneed it.

what I been thinking. Could be bad for coastal folks. But only time will tell.

i pray to god they dont close it down, at least im a north louisiana redneck so maybe it will be open up here. if i had a good blind i would say come on up here for a weekend.

Da , i been wondering the same thing we've been fighting with the shrimp season opening and closing since this shit started,
"at least we can still fish on this end" and i started thinking about what a duck will do when it lands in that shit floating around! Same with Deer when they swim a canal and all the other animals out there. I don't want to see this happen more than the next man but we better be prepared for what may be for some a hunting season.

My dad and I were talking about it today. We are not getting our hopes up, because we hunt out of venice.

When the river goes down next month we are sol.

If anything, I'd say they most likely would shut it down South of Hwy90. really no reason to shut down anything north of that. Maybe even just the southern areas below the Navigational.

I think BP should pay us for our boats that we might not be able to use!

I just know that there is a bunch of us that work all year and really look forward to our duck hunting!I do understand that the commercial fisherman and Guides that make their living should come first,But damn,We spend alot of money on our equipment and not to be able to use it would be bad!!Hopefully everything will work out and we will be back to normal soon!

I hunt in the Point Aux Chene/Galliano area. If the duck hunting is closed, I plan on making some deer hunts in Alexandria for the first time in years.

BP is paying like crazy. I know Cashios in Thibodaux is catering 3 meals a day to X amt of workers. And BP rented out Sportsman Cove or something like that for 4.2 million dollars for a year.

come on up for a month, or 2, ducks are so-so but not that hard to scrsatch out a limit of 6, from the spring flight it looks like the goose hunt should be the best yet. early season is 10 bird limit, plus 20 snows.

we have a hunting lease that i hunt on upo here in the basin (butte la rose)
so i dont think i have much to worry about
ifin i had a boat and truck id go to them flats and fordoche but i ant got either so me and my lil pirogue will just have to stay on our own land
