Went to academy today. The carrylite decoys are on sale. I got a dozen mixed for $20 per 6. Teal were $25 per dozen. They were all marked clearance |

they did everything i expected, i worked a group of 20 mallards into 3 decoys with hardly any calling but that sure beats a late season spread of 10 dozen decoys so i aint complaining. i just wish the paint held up a little better |

Yeah, they need to put whatever G&H uses for paint, they're the best sticking ones I've seen, but that damn unibody crap sucks, all the decoys are the same shape, with different colors. |

I don't think they will. I see it going more motorized and more textured, improving the paint adhesion, but they already cast from world level competition carver's birds, at least GHG does. I recognize a lot of them guys' decoys from seeing the originals in competition, they are top notch, I don't think they can improve on the form, not to an effective degree anyway. Somehow it suddenly jumped from the old 80's models that grandad carved to casting from competition birds. |

Got a dozen prograde wigeon, dozen prograde pintails, 2 dozen mallards, 2 dozen scaup, 4 of the big resting geese, and 60 coots. I have some flambeau mallards, I'm changing them to black ducks only because they are practically brand new from the years before. I want more geese but they're expensive as sht, I need a couple of swans before the season too. I gotta make me a handful of ruddies too, damn I better get busy lol. What'd you get? |

My blind is in deeper water (5-6 ft)about 300 yards from the marsh, but hunt a lot of refuge blinds in the marsh too. The coots came back strong in the past few years, so we've been trying to blend in. We get such a mixed bag here, sometimes need a diver rig, sometimes a low key marsh rig. |

my hunts are exactly the opposite, shallow buck brush tighter than a ticks ass with the same woodies here all season. My mixed bag is considered a mallard or gadwall every once in a while. Used to have a blind on catahoula big water but competion was to tough for so few ducks and blinds were gettin burnt down left and right. |

I was lloking for some coots there too but couldn't find any. When academy gets them in stock, I'll get a dozen or so. So I can mix in a few. Where I plan to be hunting, there are more coots than ducks. |
