Mr. Brooks, it's a sad sight. Some areas that shit is a couple feet thick. Jmarsh was walking around on it in 4 feet of water in one of the areas. Every little bit counts though, and the locals seemed very happy with what we did to help out. |

I think they said they'd dumped 4 million into it in the last 3 years. The weevils will work, but it is hard for them to make enough to wipe this shit out, and they struggle in this climate. That's what naturally controls it in whatever country this shit came from. Spraying works, but they don't have enough resources for it, and it silts in the lake. Dredging it works best, but you can't get to the shoreline most places in this lake with all the cypress trees and shit. It's going to be a long battle, but they said the water hyacinth would be the death of this lake back when I was growing up and they were able to finally get it under control. All we can do is hope for the best, and try to help out any way we can. |

There are wasps, but I didn't hear about anyone getting stung this weekend. Just stay out of the trees in areas where we stop and you'll be fine. I don't think you have anything to worry bout just riding around. Zane's lil girl handed me an asp on a stick and that fucker lit me up though! Don't pick up the lil ugly caterpillars! |

I had on sunglasses and they throw my color scale off a little. It looked like one of those brown gumball things that fall out of the trees and I just grabbed it off the stick. I got rid of the motherfucker real quick when I realized it wasn't what I thought it was, but that mofo had already lit me up all up one of my fingers and in my palm. Luckily missy had some of that benadryl gel. Stingin went away and it only swelled up a lil. But no, either way I was not familiar with the asps. I guess I just never fucked with shit like that or we didn't really have them around where we lived. I'd never been stung by a caterpillar before. Felt like stinging nettle.

Here's a few my fiance took. Got some pretty cool video and a few pics from the gopro on the front of my boat. One of Coe working to get out of some matted up nasty stuff but I've never edited video before so it will be fun. |
