Re: Only casualty
You know, this is the third bracket that has broken on my motor. The last two broke from accidentally trimming down with it while it was still on. I'm thinking all that traveling I did on the way back from Caddo might have engaged the trim switch a bit which caused this latest break. I looked back a few times and noticed my tiller handle was flopping all over the place up and down. Its pretty loose and mover freely. The repeated bouncing may have caused the switch to engage ever so slightly each time it hit bottom on a bounce. Not sure but maybe that's what happened. Anyone come up with an alternate solution to the bracket besides ratchet straps.

Re: Only casualty
I broke mine on my last one at about 100 hrs. I need to build a carbon one so it won't bend like the alum one does.

Re: Only casualty
That sounds plausible Dean-O but probably not very possible – most likely metal fatigue on the aluminum from the bouncing incurred while trailering?

Re: Only casualty
has anyone tried a support from the trailer with GTs, or does anyone see any problems with transporting a GT in this manner?

Re: Only casualty
I broke mine in the second week of use. Just made one out of thicker material. It's a little harder to get it on but it works.

Re: Only casualty

Re: Only casualty
Yup just snug it up. Not so tight it sounds like the trim is in a bind. I had no problems out of mine and it definitely made some miles on the trailer.

Mines made out of steel flat bar with hydro turf on the inside. Stout.
