Like in years past we'll be having the annual mud bugs & mud boats run. This run is more of a fun run and leisurely boat ride so be sure to be an extra can of gas on the boat. I've traveled some 65 miles before in a day on the river and through trails in this area. There is a gas station nearby but not on the water. (see map link below) Date: April 26, 2014 Time: 10am leaving from dock. Launch starting at 9:15 am. Location: Hugo Point Park on Gou Hole Road in Wallisville, TX. http://goo.gl/maps/cmKdp The first part of the run in the morning will be a Poker Run. There will be 7 stops along the route. This will allow everyone to sit back, relax and talk and make new friends! At each stop you'll be handed 1 card per boat. The best 5 card hand will win. The final stop will be the landing at Hugo Point where lunch will be served. A map on Google will be provided as well similar / identical to last years... We will probably boil 3 sacks maybe more depending upon number of people that say they are coming. So we will have crawfish, corn, potatoes and sausage to eat. The second part of the day will be a ride up the Trinity River into Miller Lake, Lake Charlotte and a nice float back down the river or a stop at our favorite sand bar. Be prepared to be in the sun all day so bring hats, sunglasses, plenty of fluids & enough sunscreen for a day on the River. REMEMBER TO RE-APPLY SUNSCREEN! I am going to ask Mike Bingham over at Red Tailz Crawfish to supply the bugs and I think I'll cook them or have a buddy do it so I can run with y'all the first part of the day. I would say yea but I've only ran the area twice .. Problem would be some of the trails get very skinny and covered up big time with trees and brush .. Others should know better |
