for us south la boys, that live half a mile under sea level with no flooding, coming in tomorrow and friday, are we going to be able to get there with all the flooding going on? any major roads closed that will be needed and any roads to avoid terrible traffic due to floods?

Post subject:  Re: curious question

Good question. Like the road that was blocked last year that caused a detour. Although that wasn't due to flooding obviously..

I20 is open, so is i49. The rest of the roads arent near the redriver. Should be no issue getting there.

For you guts coming from LA, take the first exit in texas. That is fm 9. Don't take fm 134 like last year. It is slower. Fm 9 is a 70mph road. GPS will take you straight to uncertain.

All you people passing on Hwy90 from houma.watch your speed its 65mph passing through Jeanerette. It's a speed trap. They sit there every day.

I don't know the city, but when you get up close to the bypass that takes you to 20, where the oncoming traffic is separated by little patches of woods, there's always cops in there. And they will right tickets for just a couple over. The speed limit is high though, like 75 IIRC.

Is the catfishing any good on the lake?
Was thinking about bringing a few poles for the kids.

^^^

3ck, there is def catfish in the lake...for kids, I'd try to get on some bream or other panfish.. If you get on em, you can sometimes catch 100 or so out of one or two spots. It's always fun and usually productive just bouncing a purple worm off the cypress trees though..
