Post E collar in saltwater
Dogtra 2300NCP

During land based training sessions, my golden responds at a setting of 20-25.
While inside, he responds to about 13-18.
However, he doesn't respond at all when training in the marsh or when swimming at the beach (even when setting is maxed out at 126). This is only observed when he's in the water and the collar is submerged. He responds fine at normal settings when he's wet but has neck out of water. Has anyone noticed a reduction in stimulation when using collars in saltwater? I can't help but think the higher conductivity of saltwater is preventing the collar from working properly. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions that will help the collar work more consistently when it's submerged? Also, I've tried tightening the collar during marsh training sessions but it doesn't help either.

It might not be working at all when submerged but usually it would quit working all together

Gotcha. I'm pretty new to e collars (approx 6 months of use) so I didn't know if there was something about saltwater causing problems.

I'll perform a better test before I call customer support.

Try this:
Put the collar around your wrist.
Turn it up to 126
Stick your arm in the water at the beach.
Check to see if it works.
If it works you will know right away and if not you will send it in for repair.

Lets us know.
