Our lab just had a litter of 8 pups and 6 of them have little white medallion spots on thier chests, will it go away? both of the parents are all black, no papers just huntin dogs. Will this hurt our chances of gettin rid of them or is it no big deal?

My lab had a couple of litters in the late 90s. One of the litters had a black female. She had a white diamond on her chest and 1 spot of white on the underside of her foot. She never lost the white spots.

My old lab who had 2 litters (one with black male, one with yellow male) and both litters had blacks with white on the chest.

We had no problem getting rid of them

Get on AKC site and get the "breed standard". I think it says pure bred labs can have white mark on chest. My dark yellow has a white mark on his chest too.

I have a 6 mnth old pure bred akc registered black female lab with a large white diamond patch on her chest prolly about 3x3 inches. i paid 400.00 for her so i think you shouldnt have any trouble.

I have a black Lab that i got about 4mths ago and she is now 10 months and she has the white spot on her chest and some white between her toes. Slowly loosing the white, she is full blooded.

The "original labs" that came over to canada all had white spots on their chests. It's not a disqualifying fault and I have always enjoyed seeing them on a dog. Hell, my Boykin even had a few white hairs on her chest when she was a pup.
