Bought a pup, brought him home tonight. Put him in kennel n laundry room. I'm going insane he won't stop barking and hollering. What to do?

Should I leave the light on for him or off?

Re: Omg he's driving me crazy
Turn da light off, close da door and leave him alone. Get a wind up alarm clock and wrap it in a towel and put it in his bed....gives the effect and sound of his momma's heart. he will eventually go to sleep. Da more dat u go n der when he cries r barks da more he is goin to do dat. Da first couple nts r ruff but it'll get better.

Re: Omg he's driving me crazy
my pup did that for the first couple nights.. putting a towel over the kennel worked good and if he's in the laundry room just turn on the drier.. that lil hum and vibrations sound help it go to sleep!

Re: Omg he's driving me crazy
We used a radio ontop of Blaze's kennel and turned the lights off. we don't kennel him up at night. We kept him in our room on his bed. That worked very well for us. He did't roam much, but I was taking him out every few hours. He only had a few accidents but that's it. Now he stays in in bed in the living room or on the ottoman from 10pm till 6am. No problems whatsoever. He only gets kenneled when we are not home. And then that has become easier to do. It was easy at the beginning cause no one would be home to hear him wining. The wife kenneled him up when she leaft for work. Now, when we are leaving, we get all his toys together and put them in the kennel, give him a treat "if" he gets in on his own and close up the door. Done. Boy but I can tell you that when we get home, he spazzes out for about 2mins and then chills out.
