Just get him force fetched early. After he has lost all his puppy teeth. If you have never forced a dog send it to a trainer to do it. This is the foundation to a good hunting buddy.

UPDATE:

Briley is 4.5 months old now and doing very well, he is sitting, staying, swimming and doing double retrieves and somewhat handsignals. i am very very pleased on his learning and his "want to" to learn. here is a few updated pics of the pup. 8-)

i will have to say i am very glad i didnt send him off for training, i feel like its just our time when we are out there and gets me away from the ole lady. lol. i usually work with him about 1.5 hours a day, rather its playing or really working him. yes i am proud of him.

Good lookn pup.

don't get to carried away with the progress......

If you think he has a concept down stay on it another week. When he looses his teeth get him forced fast and you will realy like what you got.

yeah, he is loosing his teeth now. i really dont want a competition grand master hunter, just a good ole hunting buddy who likes to hunt as much as i do. but yeah, i have been staying with it with him for a while now.
