Post In the kennel or in the house?????
Where is your dog kept? And do you see any problems in the dogs obedience after it is inside the house for a while? VS. Being in the kennel.

In the house, she wouldn't have him outside. Haven't had any issues with, but he has been in the house after he got trained to his business outside.

In the kennel during work and inside when we are at home. No problems

I guess it all bawls down to solid training then? I would love to have her in the house with us, but at the same time I don't want to ruin the training....

I think in the house you will beforced to spend more time with the dog and it will learn quicker. But a dog just leaves a smell in the house and you won't even notice it because you are use to it, but your guest will.
Animals belong outside.

True our wood floors are swept about every day, but with all wood and tile it isn't that much work to run a broom over it every once and a while.

He stays in the house but he sleeps in a crate with the door closed. As you can see by the avatar. My hunting dog and my wifes pet. But also notice he is on a platform and stayed there for the whole party.

If you let the dog get away with things inside he will want to on the job. If you don't let him get away with anything living inside will be more time to make sure he knows who's in charge.

Mostly mine stay in the kennels but they each get some house time too. One of my labs I have had for 14 years passed away about a month ago, she spent the last 6 years of her life in the house. As far as the hair goes, buy a good vaccum and use it often along with some pet carpet fresh.

I have wood floors, so I like to have 'em inside quite a bit. Gotta make sure wife and kids know the rules for the dog though. The whole family should be on the same page and be consistent as far as do's and dont's with the dogs.

Outside during the day or when no one is home. Inside when the first family member arrives home. Obedience is constantly being reinforce the more they are around the family. Important to use the same commands and stand by them. We brush our Chessies and while there is a shedding problem there is also a dust and grim problem from the family. So as was stated get a good vacum and let the dogs be part of the family.

SORRY forgot to add that we have tile floors every where except the bedroom. ;)

If you have carpet, you can vaccum all you want but you will still have dog hair on the floor. You might not be able to see them all, but wait until you steam clean the first time, and it will put you in shock.

Regardless of that, I still let my lab stay inside with me. I think that the extra work is worth having her inside with me. And I agree that it does reinforce obedience.

Just remember a dog is a dog. It is not a family member. No matter how smart or how friendly it is still a dog.

Mine stays inside. Not a problem with knowing how to be a house dog as well as a hunting dog.

I vacuum daily and dust. a PITA but I live in a condo and indoor is the only place for my dogs during the day. We go to the park and out on the water every weekend but the young one is kenneled the older lady walks around the house. Have had a few accidents when she's gotten sick which is a pita much rather would have rinses out a kennel as opposed to having carpet cleaned. I'd kennel the dog until your able to watch them. My young one I thought was over chewing and she relieved me of a nice XBOX 360 power cord.

Like to keep um in the kennel between the time they are a pup till they straighten up at about 2 yrs. When they are a lil pup they need to be harrassed by the kiddos so i keep em inside. My old jip stays inside , but she's earned her spot. once my newby proves herself she'll have a bed in da house. I kep her in the house till she was about 2.5 mts then moved her into the kennel. Comming into the house is a treat for her. till she's about 2 she'll sleep outside. Think about keepin em inside is that they are constantly getting corrected. They learn manners better in the house I find. just a thought.....
