Post retriever live forever!!!
Heard something similar to this on Duck Commander, Retrievers never die you just give the lost ones name to the new one and they live forever.

Was going to do almost the same thing off of my old jip's blood , but the puppy i kept got stolen from my old place, and i never bread her again. Now she is 10 fixed and her body can't keep up with her drive. She pretty much just lives the retirement lifestyle , but if she could she would still be in the blind. Now i'm starting over with new blood so we'll see how she works out.
