Anyone goin to the hunt test in estherwood , LA march 8th and 9th ?

I sure wish I could but my dog wont be ready for a few months. Where at I wonder? I live 15 mins from there.

How olds ur dog ? I'll be there with a choc lab, he's doing seasoned traing for a few months know. Could pass a land test, most of water but dunno about his blind on water. He's getting there no rush.

Why spend the money when you are pretty confident he won't pass a water blind?

X10. I wouldn't even take a dog to a season test unless I was confident they could pass a finished test

First of all these dogs learn lots of mistakes they get away with at a test that they normally don't get away with in training and become very wise to the different situations the more u keep running tests and will do great in training and get to a test and make u look like a asss me I rather go to a test knowing she can pass if they don't then might of just been a fluke or even just having a bad day

he's 9 months. Its the puppy I bought from JC on this sight last year. He's at a trainer right now and is just starting to work blinds now. If he is good enough and im in from work I may think about the one they do at the Duck Festival in Geuydan.

Jldc if ur dogs starting on blinds he can pass a started hunt test. And Cajun's HRC seasoned water test is shallow rice field. That's no issue might as well be a land test . I'm running my dog to get his last 2 started passes. Wasn't able to get his last two passes due to wife had our baby the weekend of lake Charles hunt test ( how inconsiderate ) and work lol. It's easier to get 4 passes in started then have to have an extra pass in seasoned . Geuydans started is harder then Cajuns started . Geuydans hunt test doesn't go towards your title.

Ill end up missing most of them with my work schedule but trainer mentioned he hasnt done any in a while and believes my pup is going to do well...he may take him to some.

I'm doing that know with him, he's fine know. did great the last 2 weeks of the second split. It's not for bragging rights. It improves his stock for breeding. If I ever decided to stud him out .If you get the opportunity to pass an easy hunt test your going to do it. I understand what your saying but a pass is a pass towards a title. I wouldn't put a dog in started until he's good on leash, steady at the line . If he's starting on blind work he should be able to pass a started test. Passing a Hunt test is never a sure thing. Even most well trained dogs will fail a hunt test or 2 atleast on the way to getting there finished title. Iv seen great trainers dogs fail hunt test. Heck, Iv seen a dog with it's grand fail a finished test. But it doesn't hurt to hold off putting your dog into a hunt test . I'm in no rush.

My dog passed big his runs today. Gets his 3rd pass. A lot of dogs failed today . Out of 45 started dogs maybe half passed.

My dog got a ribbon today in South Carolina

Congrats man ! What class? Mines going for his started title today.

where exactly are they holding the hunt test at? must be south of esterwood?

Anyone going to spillway hunt test this weekend

2 passes this weekend. One more to go for seasoned. Knock on wood....2 for 2 in started and 2 for 2 in seasoned. Congrats on the passes!

Kameaux got his started title today ! Wish I would of ran him in seasoned this past hunt test . Was more the ready for that test. They actualy ran the blind first. Thanks JB, did u just by pass ur last 2 passes in started ? I just wanna title one at a time. As for as yesterday's started is concerned , they set up one of the zingers throwing away bird at a position were the wind was blowing towards the northwest and the birds thrown southeast . All the dogs were stopping early and huning 25 yards shy of the bird. My dog had no trouble. Younger pup were thrown off

My dogs the same way lol. From the truck to the holding blind he goes nuts. From the holding blind to the line he's amped up. At the line he's all buisness and zoned in. Doesn't budge . After the test he's laid back as can be on the way back to the truck.

Today was no sweat for the dogs BTW. I saw some good dogs struggle in the land test yesterday.

That's cool man, I got a finish dog that I trained myself I could have ran her in hunt test but I hunt her to much to run around for that. I wish I would have ran her starting young but she 4 and I'm not about to start now. She's going to come in heat this month and its going to be her first time breeding her.

Thanks fellas. Hunt test are before and after duck season mainly. My dog never missed a hunt this year nor did I . Jw what do you call a finished dog ?
