kennel ideas UPDATE
I'm about to start on a new kennel. The septic tank is already in. The slab will probably be poured sometime next week. The slab will be about 16'x36'. The actual kennels are prefab and already ordered (5 runs, 6x12 each). The whole slab will be covered with a tin roof with foamboard insulation under it. It will have water and power, clean out gutter going to septic tank. It will also have a misting system to try to combat this south Alabama heat. The kennel will have about 900' of chain link surrounding the it for an exercise area. I'm trying to do it right the first time so I'm looking for ideas or anything I may have overlooked that may be beneficial down the road. Thanks.

Re: kennel ideas
Drains that carry solids are at a fall of only 1/8" per foot. Too much fall and the water out runs the solids and you have to force it...

Re: kennel ideas
WTF? Get them acclimated to moderate temperatures and they wont be worth a damn in the field.

Re: kennel ideas
Thanks for the replies. Not gonna do the in-floor thing. My dogs are in excellent shape and can handle the heat although i will have a shop fan and misters for the hotter days. I didn't know about the slope for the drain but luckily my septic tank guy did. I hope to get the slab poured this week.
The crew.

Re: kennel ideas UPDATE
I did my fencing raised off the ground a little so the dog crap is easier to just wash off to the back side of the kennel.
