Good dog vest
Anyone got any good suggestions on a good dog vest? Not really worried about price, you get what you pay for. Ive got one of the cheep allen ones right now for him to wear until he out grows it, and once he quits growing i want to get him a good one that will last. I was looking at the Banded parka and the Avery boaters parka through mac's pw. Anyone suggest one over the other? Or even other options? Im gonna need one that they offer bigger sizes in, hes in a 2xl now...i know some of the ones on macs they only offer certain sizes except the two that I mentioned.

Re: Good dog vest
I just found the drake one, but they dont offer over a 2x. Thats whats he's wearing now..granted I didn't measure him or anything, it was just a cheep one that looked like it fit. Ill measure him when I get home and see what size he actually is as of right now.

I use the Avery boaters parka and it has held up good. It's really good for pulling them back into the boat.

Re: Good dog vest
I just ordered a Mud River vest from Gun Dog Supply for my dog. Everything they make is top notch and this one looked good. I'll keep you posted when it arrives

Re: Good dog vest
I've got a few Averys (boaters 5mm and standard 3mm) and a couple older Cabelas ones. I like the Avery's. Boaters for when it's really cold.

Re: Good dog vest
Anyone know if the Avery fit a little big? They had them on sale the other day and wanted to get the Boaters parka just for the handle to pull him in the boat with but he was in between sizes.

Re: Good dog vest
Since I posted this i been doing alittle more looking into it and the tanglefree brand seems to be the best route to go. The conclusion i came to was that everyone likes the handles built into the vest for picking the dog up however the holes/handles in the top defeat the purpose of the vest by allowing cold water to run down from the top and heat to exit through the same holes. The tanglefree vest has handles on it but they are re-enforced stitched on so no open holes.
