goin through the big D and had to find a home for my duck dog of 6 years. this dog was a great pup i had kept for myself out of one of my previous litters. taught by me, trained by me, just one of those once in a lifetime dogs. anyway, a buddy of mine was more than happy to give him a good home and take advantage of his abilities which eased my mind a bit. talked to the buddy yesterday and had to share the story. they were in the goose pit and sailed one about three hundred yards across a drainage ditch into another field. he sent Hank on the blind retrieve. Hank swam the ditch, got within about 30 yards of the cripple when it got up and tried to fly. the goose got about 5 feet off the deck, when Hank jumped and snagged it out of the air. kinda made me feel proud and heartbroke at the same time. anyhow thought it was a good story. |

Bittersweet stuff man. He was lucky to have you as an owner, hope you get lots of time with him in the future, ya never know what time will bring. |
