Just curious how many times a day you feed your dogs. And why? I was always a twice a day guy (daily feed amt/2 in am and pm) But just got my dog back from "college" (he was in retrieveing school) and my dog looked great. He had him on once a day feed (3 1/2 cup Pro Plan purple bag). My dogs always seemed to do well with the 2 a day but I had him on 4 cups twice a day puppy chow large breed (as the vet recomended) but he gained about 10 lbs and looked great while he was there for 3 mos. He is approx 1 1/2 to 2 years old. Have switched to Pro Plan and 1 a day for now, but wanted some more feedback... |

When mine is on the road with the trainer, the trainer only feeds once a day and the dogs look good. Its easier on the trainer as far as time managment to only feed once, plus it helps the dogs get on a bathroom schedule. When my dog is home he gets fed 2 twice a day. He still remembers when he was a puppy, that when he went out in the morning to the bathroom, he got rewarded (food) when he came back in. Its kinda funny, but he still goes by that routine while he is home and doesnt have a problem with the once a day feeding while he is on the road. |

I feed mine twice a day 2 cups each time. Need to do something different cause shes gaining weight. |

I feed Sadie & Aimee twice daily 1 scoop for Sadie 2x day 1.5 for Aimee 2x day |

Once a day for mine !! That pro plan in the purple bag is some good as shit.. The best my dog has ever looked is on that feed.. 20 % fat good for hunting season!! Mine gets real lean for the season which keeps her little ass cold this year she had good weight on her and hardly got cold!! |

Twice a day. He has a pretty screwed up digestive system and I don't think he could handle the once a day like when he was in college. |

I've got 4 dogs in trainin right now, and I feed pro plan once a day. My dogs look great and have plenty of energy to make it through their training. My personal dog hunted 4 days a week on average this past season w/ me and always had enough energy to make it through the hunt. Pro plan is some good stuff. I switched her to it half way through the season, and I actually saw a difference. Pro plan once a day is working for me. |

i was told by a trainer it depends on the size and how active my lab is now seven small stature but stocky she gets fed one time a day and she does fine she has been 65 pounds since she was prolly 9 months old |

i feed my lab once in the evening when its not hunting season..during hunting season ill feed her about half of her regular amount when we get home and then a normal amount in the evening. |
