| Post subject: | My dog Blaze |
My daughter named him Blaze. Picked him up last week in Raceland. He's full breed but no papers. He was 6 weeks on 5/15/10. He does chase and sorta fetch balls and toys. I bought a throw dummy from academy to work with him. He loves that thing. Always chewing on it and tries to carry it back. Here are a few pics I had on FB. I have more at home of him sitting in his camo bed. And yes he will be an inside dog. But will do what I can to get him into hunting. |

I thought the puppy looked familiar, that was my cousin/neighbor i live right up the street from them. The dogs in that bloodline have very high drive and determination, the dad of that pup comes from my 10 year old female, you have a very good hunting dog with the right training that you purchased. |

Small world? He's been doing pretty good. He's really good inside. I've been tossing a dummy and ball for him and he goes to get it but for the life of me he tries to run off to the side and doesn't want me to get the dummy. I'm sure it'll take time to get him retrieving correctly. But I'm still impressed about how fast he learns. When we left, I think I may have been scoping out your boat. |

Do yourself a favor and do not keep the dog inside. I have a white/yellow English lab that is an inside dog. The hair is REDICULOUS! |

Here are a few updated pics. Last vet visit he weighed in at 27lbs. A month before he was at 16lbs. As you can see he loves the pool. When my daughter is swimming, he just jumps on in and swims around in circles. Before I bought the ramp he used the steps. He likes the ramp better. I still can't get him to jump from the deck just yet. I'm sure I'm going to get flack for letting him swim in the pool. But right now that is all I have. There is a pond across the street, but there are a few gators in it. |

2 Months Old 2 Years Old Can't keep him out of the water. He just goes swimming by himself for like 30-45 minutes at a time. |

Damn, he jumps pretty high. I wish I could get mine to jump off flat like that. Mine kinda tests the water and then jumps. He won't jump from the decking. |

Well, after some time working with Blaze and adding a launch platform covered in carpet, he's really liking jumping into the pool. He takes about a 10' run and launches about 10' into the pool. My pool is 21' round so he's clearing about 1/2 of it. Now I'm looking locally to see if there are any jumping groups. Might look at putting him in some cmopetitions. Then maybe not. Here are a few pics from this past Sunday. |

Blaze seems to like the cold weather. This past winter he said out a good bit. I know what you are getting at, but I'm not sure if he'll even be henting much. The places we hunt, there is way too much weeds and grass under the water surface. Just don't know about him hunting. My just look into the Dock Dog competitions. |
