We have again enlisted the help of Bridge City Police Department to provide security for our vehicles & boats from dusk til dawn while at the hotel.

We are also working with Port Neches Police Department to watch our vehicles at the Riverfront Park on Saturday while we are on the water.

Please understand that the off duty officers will not be there to police us but only to provide security for our belongings while we sleep or are out on the water.

They were greatly appreciated last year. Damn sure didn't hinder the party at the LA Quinta. :D

As we disclosed before, we are working with Port Neches & Bridge City PD.

We want to be completely open about the costs for the security, which is further detailed below:

$840 total for Friday & Saturday (La Quinta, dusk 'til dawn patrol) ($35/ hr)
$280 total for Saturday (Riverfront Park, 10 am - 4PM) ($40/ hr)
Total Cost: $1120.00

As you can see these costs are fairly substantial, as such, we will be accepting donations at the La Quinta for anyone that stays there and also donations at the Riverfront Park. These donations will be put towards the cost for the security provided by the local police departments.

Should there be any extra money raised or collected, we will donate such funds to a local 501c3 organization. The organization will be named shortly. Any proceeds from t-shirt or koozie sales will also be put towards the food for Saturday and Security. Any residual funds will be donated to the 501c3 organization which will soon be named.

We appreciate your understanding.

I honestly don't think you need to hire security while parked during the day at port neches park. Overnight at LaQuinta is fine but there is constant law enforcement in the park area during the day.

Coe is their anyway to somehow put this cost with the hotel room. I think the security at the park is overkill to be honest. That launch is packed year round. It's a nice area which I'm sure is patrolled often anyway. The security at the hotel is great, for those staying their. Just seems logical to find a way to associate the charge with the room. My .02

Hell even security at the hotel is almost not needed. I know last year some of these knuckleheads didn't sleep but a couple hours. Lol

If they did it last year why would it be any harder this year. If I was attending I'd have no problem putting a little cash to the cause

Security at the hotel isn't a bad idea at all.

I would lean towards no security at the park. I've been using that park and ramp all my life with big boats and small boats - never a problem.

Cops routinely monitor the area, and there is pretty heavy pedestrian traffic and boat watchers on nice weekends.
