Meal Schedule for next year. Please participate in the poll
I'd like to see what everyone's thoughts are for us having a cook and providing meals during the big ride on Saturday. Most years we serve a few more lunches than dinners, but this year I think we sold almost twice as many lunches as we did dinners. I'd like to see what everyone thinks about continuing or changing the way we do this. Please participate in the poll, but also feel free to comment if there is anything else you would like to see changed (as far as food goes).

I think keep lunch for sure. Dinner... up in the air, personally I eat it every year simply because its easy, and I don't have to take time out from boat riding to cook something.
Maybe we can just pre-sell tickets for it to cut down on some of the overage. Though I know there are people (locals and social media users) that show up and would want food and had no idea about the pre-sale.

I'm kinda thinkin the same as you.. If we keep both, I will probably change up the way we do roll call. How many in your party? How many will participate in lunch? How many will participate in dinner? I will also try to get the website updated to route everyone back to MMT. Kinda post it on every page of the website. For more info on t shirts, visit http://www.mudmotortalk.com and check out the events forum. For more info on schedule....For more info on food....etc, etc, etc.

You could cook way more than needed and send the leftovers home with me!

Re: Meal Schedule for next year. Please participate in the
James said we should auction the leftovers off, which is a good idea, I just couldn't find the cook after the raffle so I didn't know what was left. He'd already stepped down the servings for dinner quite a bit, but we were still leftover with an entire brisket. Maybe we'll auction off the banner next year too.
Lunch could not have been any more perfect as far as the meat goes. Me and Will were the last two at the table and we cleaned out the little bit that was left in the pans. We ran out of buns, but we had 96....I only had about 60 people say they were going to eat... I can only do so much with the limited amount of info people give me. Same thing with the t-shirts, people get upset we don't have their sizes or that we run out....if you preorder, you get your shirts (everyone except Brian, anyway). It's as simple as that. The point is to not have much leftovers of anything. It's a fundraiser, all waste comes out of the total we are able to donate back to the lake.

Auctioning off the banner would be a cool idea. I know some of those drunk asses would pay way too much for it to hang in their garage. LOL As far as the meal schedule goes. Lunch worked out great! Our group agreed to cook at the house only because we brought way too much stuff for groceries and rather than tote all that stuff back, we cooked Sat night. I honestly feel like dinner could go either way depending on how the schedule went earlier in the day. I think we could comeback to Crips after the morning ride and do the raffle and lunch then, and have the afternoon to make a little longer ride over to the Louisiana side and to Onion Island. This would all together eliminate any waste for dinner and everyone could either go cook with their own "groups" or go to a restaurant etc... on that note though, If the decision is made to do the dinner at Crips next year, I'm in. This year was just because of us being hungry at the grocery store on the way up

I'd definitely agree to either way on the dinner and raffle time. I don't want Josh to feel like we wasted his time and efforts, he makes a pretty good meal. He could focus a little more on lunch, charge 10 for lunch, then everyone could roll the rest of the evening to do whatever. Maybe fry some fish.
