Fellas, as y'all know south Louisiana has been getting hit pretty bad with the flooding. I'm posting this thread for all those who wish to help if it's needed. I'm sure with more rain coming that there will be more folks needing to be rescued/evacuated.

Feel free to use this thread as a central location to organize the efforts. If there happens to be any LDWF personnel that could chime in on letting us know if assistance is needed and where that would be great.

I couldn't get out to help as I was trying to save my things from the flood waters. But when the sun came out this morning we dodged a bullet and a little of the water actually went down. So if there is anyone around the Maurice area I might be able to help.

very sad around the denham springs area. I know a few members are helping with their boats. I'd go if i knew how to get there with the road closures. We are dry in St mary parish

Things are far from good in my neck of the woods but it's getting better. The water is starting to go down slowly. But will take lots of time to get back to close to good b

that was and friend of mine who jumped out of the boat. things are really bad here and not looking up right now. the water has crested in denham springs but it moving down river.

a control structure near port Vincent has failed and it going to get worse than expected.

people who can reach denham springs from the east would really help

My nephew and family from all our local fire and rescue along with all spare personal are in Amite now to help with search and rescue. There were quite a few mudboats with them. I'll try to call him to see if they need more boats.

Guys, with all the flooding going on and the thousands needing rescue, I thought it would be good to have a forum dedicated to having emergency information to help coordinate rescue efforts. It's just like the events forums where you would post where the emergency is and other info such as meeting / launching site etc.

Here's the link:

I got up this morning, drove to LSP at Highland with my boat in tow. Asked where to go to help. Told me go to Costco and ask any uniformed officer. Got there, they directed me to Millerville Road off I-12. Unbelievable some of the things I saw today. It was bad. We pulled people out all day long between Millerville and O'Neal. There were hundreds of civilian rescue boats ferrying people to the staging area at Millerville Target. Spent the entire day out there. At times, I was ready to tear up. Really felt bad for these people. Most were in good spirits and really glad to see us. Others not so spirited. We pulled them out from infants to aged in wheelchairs. Dogs, cats and birds. Good to see so many people stepping up where the state/federal agencies could not. LOTS of surface drive rigs out there. Kudos to all!

Got a feeling that tomorrow and Tuesday will be Ascension Parish areas. Ascension Office of Emergency Preparedness would be a good first start. Saw on my Pastor's Instagram, they were set up at Household of Faith Church, today.

I just fled my place in Gálvez. I'm most probably going to get some water. Sickening feeling, in March I was the one doing the rescuing and even some yesterday. However this afternoon i was the one in need of rescuing. Saw this on our way out.

We went to household of faith today and it was a waste of time. The boat never hit the water. We left at dark when they said they were shutting it down and picking up at daylight.

It was a rough day out in Baton Rouge today. Got a bunch of families and elderly people out. Will try and get to Livingston Parish tomorrow but doubtful if we can get there with all roads closed. One of my props is toast and both skegs are worn to nothing, but it is all for the people that need evacuating in this disaster.

I launched on the Pumpkin Center exit (I was land locked from there). I keep losing spark. Any quick thinks to check? Like to get back out to help.

Best way to get to Livingston I know of is to launch from hWY42 or 431 in ascenscion and cross the river by Fred's. Any one who goes be careful and wear your life jacket. Current is ripping through there

Anybody know of where we should be staging or going to in Ascension Parish? I have heard that boats are being turned away, boats are just sitting in trailers at other areas""..BS! Where do we go and make a difference?
