The "ride" is on Saturday. People will start trickling into town on Weds and Thurs and we usually try to get whoever has made it to town together and go to dinner on Friday.
I'll get a rough schedule up soon, but we generally start the first group out of crips around 9-930 Saturday morning. If more than 50 boats (probable), we'll start a second group about 30 minutes after the first. Make about a 25 mile run and loop back around to Crips for lunch.
After lunch we'll head over to Onion island. Lots of people have been to this ride before and know their way around. Little groups will start to head over in 5's and 10's. If you don't know where to go, just ask. You can hop in line and follow anyone. We're all friendly.
I should have at least 4 boats flagged with a 6 foot tall, orange flag. These will be the folks helping me lead the morning ride. After lunch, any of those boats would be good choices to follow across the lake.
If weather permits, folks will usually start heading back towards crips around 6-7. We'll all eat dinner, and then the giveaway will follow shortly after.
Then THE party starts.
