So my girlfriend's sister and b-n-l came in for a wedding this weekend. I decided to take him out for a ride and show him some gators and catch one for him to take some pictures with and then let go. We had a blast; saw tons of gators and snatched a 2.5 footer for him to hold and take pictures with, etc. On the way back in though we saw a pelican injured pretty bad and couldn't fly away from us. Normally I would let nature take its course but we decided to investigate it. I pulled up to him and Jason was able to get his head in the net. I grabbed him into the boat and tied him up and put a rag over his head to calm him down. So I got to the launch and called the zoo and no one could get me in touch with anyone who could help me and to top it off the zoo was closed. So I went to the SPCA and they were able to take him and they said that the State Vet was coming later that day and they would take him and fix'em up and let him back into the wild. By the way he was hit by an alligator that didn't kill him must have been to small to do it. Missing feathers and puncture wounds all over.

congrats JP... but from one coonass to another... why didnt u fry it as an appetizer to the alligator? u know how good pelican is.. especialy the white ones.

Jp next time you talk to Gary ask him about the time he pulled up on that pelican that put his dogs head in his bill That was a change of pace for a dog that retieved hundreds of birds a year to being retrieved by a pelican.

Me and Brooks rescued a pelican at fausse point in march, it had its wing wrapped all up in a decoy line from the lazy fukin coonasses that still had their duck decoys out in march.

We leave our decoys out year round to mark our spots....... it also works
good for catching pelicans in the off season.

Padna of mines rescued a Pelican from one his long-lines. Pelican swims down to git the bait and gits hung in the hook ...... Well he gits the byrd un-hooked and the byrd commenced to tair up mines padna's face and his boat !!!!
