Post Re: New Drafting Department
I contacted the drafting department, but they are busy right now.

Though, I did find out that the Back Seat is only that of a Back Deck with Seat Bases. Also, the CC is only on the drawing. It will not be put at first. He will be running a Tiller (extension) 36pd with Hydro reverse. Also this boat will have a huntdeck. Due to the tiller handle, I assume that there cannot be any additional body sitting on back deck.

Line thickness is inconsistent, Lettering is VERY inconsistent, and your straight edge looks like it get hit by a surface drive prop. Other than that looks like you used AutoCAD to make that fine peice of buleprint material.

Are you tellin me sumone is plannin on puttin seat pedestals on da hunt deck. Also dat looks to be a longer than normal hunt deck. Explain to him dat a PD does not have a floatin handle which will hit da huntdeck when da motor kicks up from impacts. Der is reasons PD does not have hunt decks on der boats. It will work when he goes to remote steerin but he needs to rethink da whole tiller idea.

I just don't want to see sumone put alot of money into sumthin dat may not work like they thought.

I should have put my little girl in th pictures .
18x48 boat
Hunt deck
Motor- 35 Gtr, not pd

On the hunt deck question, no seat peds will be on it. J posted the pictures ass backwards. I doubt there will be that bench seat. Prob one pod on the drivers side with a grab bar.

I need to give Crayola some due credit.

I'm all about opinions. Thats the main reason I read this site. So offer me your opinions.

My neighbors were probably wondering what the hell I was doing.

This boat will be all purpose. I got rid of 2 boats to go to one. So looking for fishing, hunting, crabbing, frogging, etc.

The main thing is that I know I'll eventually get a CC so I want to leave the open floor from the middle to back for that.

I think the chalk drawing benefited me a lot. Let me see what floor space I would have. Made a couple of adjustments thanks to the chalk.

Woody I really like your boat. Very nice. I had drawn up a rod box on the left hand side but it takes up too much room. I'll probably place some rod holders somewhere that are removable for hunting season.

The gun box will be perfect for the paddle, push pole, and of course guns.

If I go with the CC, I'm not going to do anything behind it besides the hunt deck. Thats my biggest decision right now. I'm trying to see how much just the steering will be. Being the badass boat builder that J is, he will take care of the console. The console will also make a difference on the wiring, so we will see.

So I'm pretty anxious to get this going, but I'm going to take my time. I should be going buy a trailer this weekend. That is step one. I'll be making a few trips to S-ville and visit J.

DS=dry storage, so its a dry storage seat.

That was my drawing during my first case of the day. 3 hours is a long time to do nothing. I wish they would not have blocked 99% of the websites. Thank God for the Iphone!

You should put more than 3 or 4 horizontal braces. I'm thinkin 6 or 7.

Quack its going to have the vertical runners going from front to back. I'm trying to see what we can do to eliminate the square tubing over the double bottom. I saw you have 2 for sure on your boat. One in the front, one by the console, and I guess one in the back. I was thinking of rigging it out like you if the square tubing is a must. One in the front, one coming into the CC, and one in the rear.

Uncle J is the master planner. I'm just throwing out ideas while I'm at work. Thats why I drew those horizontal bars on the paper. Was wondering if you could run flat bar over the vertical runners and then rivet the double bottom to the flat bar. I have no clue how to build boats. So thats why I like throwing out ideas and letting Uncle J tell me how stupid I am.

Also Quack, how does your boat perform in the mud? Just wondering because everyone says that when you are stuck with a console, you are stuck. But this is going to be my fishing boat too, and I will be traveling far distances and riding in the Intracoastal so I think I'm putting the CC in from the get go.

They're talking about duals when they say "when you're stuck, you're stuck". Your boat won't be any heavier just because it has a console. Its gonna be just as hard to push it as any other boat though. Only way a tiller will help when your stuck is you can see what you're doing. When your turning the tiller and digging, you're right on top of it. I'm sure you can do the same from the cc, just gonna take some getting used to.

Good luck, and congrats.

I agree on the cross bars on the floor, I hate them. I would bust my ass, we'll have to get around them somehow when I get ready fo my rig.

Hey Nunc J, just wanted to make sure you can make a hunt deck out of aluminum as well as I can draw them out of any crayola product. I should have that trailer tomorrow. Don't want to be stuck with a trailer and no boat. 

I don't weld after 11am, or before 5 pm. That's how I keep my good health. It is hot as fuk under a shield during that part of the day. Yes, on wends, I did tee off at 1:30.
Ryan, we can go ride in shadows boat on Tuesday. In fact, i will take a reasonable offer. He never sent me a death threat like earl33 did..
