what do you think of pods?
what do you guuys think of pods? i get 20-25mph out of my 36hp prodrive on a 1648 semi v boat... do the pods help out in shallow water? or do they just help on speed n keepin the back of the boat out of the water for take off?

Re: what do you think of pods?
if you're only getting 25 mph tops out of a 36 ProDrive, you have some serious boat issues, and I doubt putting pods on is going to be the solution to your problem. maybe tell us a little more about your boat, or put up some pictures. something.

Re: what do you think of pods?
pods is a band-aid fix for a person who bought a boat that is 2' too short.

Gump, you're a genius! don't waste your time welding more shit on a boat that wasn't made for a MM to begin with..

Re: what do you think of pods?
x2 on above.
If you are wanting pods to help with speed, you will not be happy. Pods will not increase speed. They are only good for a boat that is too azz heavy and needs a little lift. I put them on one boat to solve that problem and only that problem and am very happy with them. No more backwash and helped with loading boat in water... (if you do pods, I would find someone who knows what he is doing and have them custom made...)
Speed seems off though.... I would think even that boat would be performing better than that. There a number of threads about this, but I would ck prop-make sure you have the 36 prop and that it is in good shape-what rpms are you turning to only do those speeds. AND I would adjust how I am loading boat. Every boat is different and I would move stuff around to see what is best. Move some weight back and if that doesn't help, then try moving some forward. Make sure everything is centered. Had my uncle and some extra gas in the front of the boat the other day and was drag'n azz bad... moved him and the fuel to the back and jumped up about 8 mph......
Good luck... post up some pics and maybe someone will see something to help you...
