Post I want to install Hydraulic trim on 36hp Prodrive
Can someone tell me how to install an hydraulic trim on a 36hp motor. I called to get quotes and running about $300 in labor plus $475. I have a X2 boat and is a 2009. Can I do this myself If I have directions and mechanically inclined?

The kit comes with instructions, but it's pretty straight forward. Remove the old trim wheel, just back it out. Support the weight of the motor and punch out the pin that holds the arm in place. Put the new arm on and re insert the pin. Mount the ram and pump (I think the new style may be one piece), and run your wires. Just put one on a couple months ago, took about an hour with two people.

Once again, if you folks would put in your signature where you area located you might find that someone is close enough to give you a hand with it. But if Mudhole can figure out and install it, anyone can.

Peck at Prodrive said that I may have to weld a bracket in the center of the boat to install since mine is offset to the left. They charge $55 which should only take an hr.That would be great if i lived in Louisiana :( . If someone is close to Pearland and can help let me know, thanks.

We had to offset ours a lil, cuz my dad's boat has a brace right under the transom bracket. We just bolted it to the transom right next to the motor. I'd wait until you get it and see if you think you can make it work. If not, any competent welder could fab up a bracket for you.
